It’s finally happening! I got Off the Grid back from my illustrator, and I’m waiting for the proofs to come in the mail. Over the Line and Off the Grid will officially change to the new covers, and the rest of the series will match with the same cover artist.

They look amazing! Mayhara Ferraz did an great job.

Now, I’m still working on finishing When Late Flowers Bloom. I’m very close to the end like maybe one or two more chapters and then an epilogue. I have editing scheduled for the end of July, and then I’m going to take some time to ensure it’s as perfect as can be before I list for pre-order and actually plan a book launch!

The impending move is in the way.

If you follow me on social media, you’ve likely noticed I practically stopped posting and marketing. In May, I had multiple trips and then all of June has been prepping for this move. I haven’t had the spoons or energy to do anything outside of packing or losing myself in a game or show as a distraction.

As I write to you now, I’m in a room surrounded by boxes and still have plenty more to pack. I’m also watching my little niece tomorrow, so Idhave to baby proof my house a bit before she arrives, and the big, heavy boxes will actually help me create a blockade, so at least there’s that!

A book I read recently that I enjoyed was The Neighbor Favor by Kristina Forest. It was the exact type of contemporary I like to read. Prepare for a slow burn and a cute friends-to-lovers story with a bit of secret identity squeezed in there.

Besides that, I’ve mostly been obsessed with Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream and watching various animes. I finished The Apothecary Diaries, and now I’m watching Frieren. It’s a nice little mental escape from all the adult responsibilities coming up this weekend.

I might email you once more this month.

When I get my proof copies and approve the new covers for publication, I will let you all know! My goal would be to also have a place for people to order my book on my website, but that might be too overzealous for me this month. Either way, I’ll let you all know as soon as they’re available!

There could be a giveaway in the mix as well for some old copies I have of the previous cover and a few copies of the new versions. We will have to see, but I’ve been thinking about offering that to my newsletter subscribers!

I don’t want to normally write to you all more than once a month, but I did decide it’s my minimum to keep you all updated. If you want more musings and frequent articles from me about writing, reading, media, and pop culture, you can follow me on Substack.

Otherwise, we are sticking to the basic updates here! And I truly appreciate all of you for sticking with me. I know many of you hopped on when I made my original return to publishing in 2023, so I’ve enjoyed the support over the years.

Maybe one day I can actually organize better bookaversary events and things. Having a job and consistent income has helped tremendously, and I want that to sprinkle over into my publishing.

Thanks for reading!

Hope you’re all reading awesome books and getting by okay with the current state of the world. Here’s a pic of my dog to send you off for a great July!

Everyone, say goodbye to Elsa!
